I like to start my mornings with a little bit of alone time. Getting up first thing and embarking in some type of exercise…it’s just a great way to start your day. I’m a tri-athlete, so I like running, biking, swimming – anything that makes me a better tri-athlete. What’s most liberating is when you’re done you just have a clear mind. All the noise, all the clutter just sort of unwinds, and you can look at everything with a clean slate.
In today’s fast paced world, most people don’t meet with their mortgage banker. But the reality is I think people need to see us. They need that relationship. In a perfect world, I’d meet every single client because that’s where the connections are made, and that is where the relationship really starts.
Buying a house, getting a mortgage, moving, doing all that at the same time, can be very stressful. Finding some time to slow that process down a little and learn a little bit more about who you’re working with just makes everybody feel better. And I think it’s a big piece of what’s missing in mortgage banking today. I couldn’t do my job if I wasn’t constantly working with the real estate community, because the reality is, that’s where business happens, an by reaching out, having meetings, discussing either business plans or market trends ultimately makes me a better mortgage banker.
I’m constantly researching markets — overseas markets, currencies, bonds, stocks, real estate around the world – the world is so interconnected that they all matter now. The advice that you can give, could save the client a lot of money. So the question the client has to ask, is will they move in five years?
What’s great about my team is they share the same drive and passion towards educating and helping every homebuyer to make the right decision. We feed off each other, we share ideas constantly. We’re talking about how to properly compare and contrast loan options and different structures that might be coming online to the marketplace, and together we find solutions for people, and it’s effortless and it’s powerful.
I love the work that I do because I see how it changes lives. Every single day we touch people and we change their course of life. When they walk away from the conversations with us, they’re smarter, they are empowered — whether that means through buying a house, or investing, or debt control, debt management, credit, you name it. That’s what we get so excited about. At the end of the day, it’s all about quality of life — for me, for my family, my employees, my clients, my realtor partners, everybody I touch and everybody we influence.
